GSC volunteers at Catholic Schools Week breakfast on Monday, January 29, 2024
From GSC Facebook post on Thursday, September 7, 2023:
Before we get too deep into the new school year, we would like to highlight four women who have been an important part of the #GSCCommunity for most or all of our 13-plus years, and who – for the first time in many, many years – do not have a child at Good Shepherd Catholic School this September.
At the last 2022-2023 Good Shepherd Home and School Association officers meeting in June, the current and new board members recognized Mrs. Susan Carlson, Miss Aimee O’Donnell, Mrs. Jessica Hess and Mrs. Michelle Equi for the countless hours/days/weeks/years they selflessly served the students, families, faculty and staff of Good Shepherd Catholic School. They are pictured here holding a “GSC Flock of Honor” plaque.
By way of explanation, this new award was created “to honor exceptional Home and School volunteers. Throughout their time at GSC, recipients have demonstrated a deep dedication to the GSC families, teachers, and staff, going above and beyond casual volunteering. Home and School volunteers whose youngest child is leaving GSC are eligible for the award if they have served on the board for multiple years.”
Thank you, ladies, for living GSC’s mission of Community + Service, and for your invaluable contributions to GSC and the positive impact you have had on others!
And while these dedicated women are standing by the school’s front doors and exit sign, they still are facing inwards, where they always are welcome, and they have promised to be back at GSC to help out and to continue to support Good Shepherd Catholic School!
